Network Applications

ALTURA & AVAYA’S VIDEO SERIES: PART 3

In part 3 of our 8-part video series, we focus on Network Applications. Mr. Peter Johnson, a leading Healthcare executive who previously served as Dartmouth-Hitchcock’s Medical Center CIO for 26 years, shares his critical observations on how his partnership with Altura and Avaya benefited his organization:

“So in the future, we’re going to see both Avaya and Altura are going to need to step up to provide the kinds of things that they have provided in the past. We’ll see things and greater reliance on networks and what networks will be and have been for us in the past. Avaya has created Shortest Path Bridging that will provide tremendous opportunities and help to go from some of where we’ve been to where we need to go in an efficient and effective use of our networks as we rely more on video, voice, and data all being integrated over the same pipes in trying to move forward.

We’ll also see applications in the integration of those applications on the network. I expect that we will see Avaya and Altura provide applications that will allow us to be more effective and efficient, through things like: call answering, forwarding, responses, and integration with other systems such as cellular and paging.

And finally, I think we ought to expect and see collaboration and services will continue to be an emphasis that needs to take place. As it has been in the past, it will continue to be in the future.”
